Polarstern has been doing the media work for the Fraisa competition for up-and-coming talent since 2013. This year it reported a definite premiere: A woman stepped onto the highest platform of the podium for the first time ever. Julia Wiss from Steinhausen in the Swiss canton of Zug won out over a field of 275 rivals to capture first place in the national competition in the category of CNC machining. She is proud of her performance and also of being able to prove that women can be gifted with their hands, too. In the category of conventional metalworking, Andrey Miroshnikov from Küsnacht won out over a field of 933 by demonstrating his talents in milling and drilling. A total of 1,210 polymechanics, micromechanics and production mechanics vied for honours at this year’s Fraisa ToolChampions.

Polarstern was the agency again this year that provided local and national media with information on the event with its comprehensive media work in German, Italian and French.
